A & G Attorneys Get Arbitration Award Vacated

In Carver Theater, LLC et al vs Kristen Melancon et al the Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans was misled into referring the case for Arbitration before a panel of three Arbitrators.   At the conclusion of the Arbitration which ended with an Award in favor of the Defendants, the Plaintiffs moved the Arbitrators to vacate their Award based on testimony given during the Arbitration by the defendant Kristen Melancon that she never intended to honor the contract at issue…

Ethics

Our attorneys have served as advisors to a wide range of clients on matters involving legal, business, governmental and judicial ethics as well as the development of internal codes of conduct. They have successfully represented lawyers charged with violations of the Rules of Professional Conduct, judges charged with violation of judicial canons,  government  officials charged with violations of state and city ethics codes and business, governmental and non-profit organizations in need of internal codes of conduct. Included amongst our attorneys who practice in this area are lawyers who have: 1) chaired  Hearing Committees of the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board  responsible for adjudicating issues involving attorney misconduct, 2) chaired Panels of the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board responsible for hearing appeals of Hearing Committee decisions and making recommendations for lawyer discipline to the Louisiana Supreme Court, 3) served as expert witnesses in legal malpractice and attorney fee disputes where rules of professional conduct were at issue and 4) served as adjunct professors at accredited law schools teaching legal ethics.
